As an INTO student, you can become an associate member of uea(su). It is free for INTO students to become an associate member of the SU. Your free associate membership will last from the point of purcahse to the 31st of July that academic year.
How do I become an associate member?
  • If you wish to become an associate member, the first thing you will need to do is to create a guest account on this website. To do this, click the login icon in the top right corner, then navigate to the guest/staff login, and select register new user.
  • Once you have made a guest account, you will need to fill out this form and send it over to [email protected]. If approved, we will then get in contact with you to finish making your associate account.

For sports club membership, you must also buy SAM membership...
SAM Membership
In order to join a sports club, you will also need to purchase Sports Association Membership (SAM) on top of the associate membership and the specific club membership fee. SAM is £50 a year and covers lots of costs like insurance, coaching, equipment, competition costs etc. It is mandatory for all students and associate members who are in sports clubs, and only needs to be paid once a year.
If you wish to join a club after the Christmas break in January, the cost of SAM reduces to £30. For more information click here.
BUCS Membership
Most of our sports club have team in the BUCS league, which allows university teams to compete against each other. If you have a UEA Campus Card, you can take part in the BUCS league.
Society and Club Committees
Please bear in mind that, as an associate member, you will not be able to take part in elections of student representatives or in those of clubs and societies committees, as they are UEA student led.
Code of Conduct
You will be expected to uphold the same code of conduct as our students. Being part of a UEA club or society means that you must respect this code, and adhere to our code of conduct and bye-laws, so you need to be aware of these.
